About This Rink
Located in the heart ofa Montgomery County, Rockville Ice Arena is the area's premier hockey and ice skating facility!<br>The arena boasts three full-size rinks, each available for figure skating, hockey, and community skating activities. Two of the three rinks also offer bleacher seating suitable for games and showcases, and we have twelve locker rooms available for your hockey teams' or other skating groups' needs.<br>If you're interested in learning to skate, Rockville Ice Arena hosts one of the largest Group Lesson programs in the area, offering instruction to skaters of all levels. We also provide beginner hockey instruction through our Hockey Initiation Program, which transitions youngsters from basic skating skills into hockey fundamentals, and prepares them for a fun and exciting hockey-filled future!<br>Along with our in-house programs, Rockville Ice Arena plays host to a variety of high caliber youth hockey programs. We are the hockey home of the Montgomery Youth Hockey Association, and the proud home rink for the St. John's Cadets, the Bullis Bulldogs, and the 2015 & 2016 MAPHL champion Landon Bears. We're also rink partners of Team Maryland, a AAA travel hockey organization, and the Washington Pride, an elite all-girls travel hockey organization that competes in the Junior Women's Hockey League, and is one of the most successful girls hockey programs in the country.<br>In addition, Rockville Ice Arena hosts practices, games, and events for the following organizations:<ul><li>Wheaton Ice Skating Academy, featuring multiple nationally competitive ice dancers;</li><li>Hockey North America, the largest adult hockey organization in the region;</li><li>Local high school hockey throughout the winter, as well as a spring league held exclusively at RIA;</li><li>United Capital Blades Speedskating Club, boasting a former Gold and Silver medal-winning coach;</li><li>and the USA Warriors, an organization dedicated to organizing and administering a hockey program for servicemen and servicewomen wounded in the defense of the United States.</li></ul>
